Cookie Policy: Cookies and Storage on FiftyStatePay

This cookie policy lists the cookies and browser storage FiftyStatePay uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We keep it short on purpose, because the site uses very few.

If you only want to change your choices, jump to the settings button below. Otherwise, read on for the full list.

  • A short, honest list

Cookie Policy Summary

Quick answer

FiftyStatePay uses a few cookies and similar browser storage. Some remember your light or dark choice and your last calculator entries. Google Analytics measures visits, and Google AdSense uses advertising cookies to show and measure ads. You can change your cookie settings at any time, and the calculators still work if you block them.

Our cookie policy at a glance.

Why We Use Cookies

We use necessary storage so the site works the way you expect. We use analytics cookies so we can see which pages help and which ones confuse. We use advertising cookies because ads pay for the free calculators.

If you opt out of personalized ads, ads can still appear. However, they use less of your data. This cookie policy shows exactly where each choice lives. Also, read how we calculate to see that the calculators run in your browser.

Cookies vs. Local Storage

A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser. It is sent back to the site each time you load a page. Local storage is similar, but it stays in your browser and is not sent with page requests.

We use both words in this cookie policy. Cookies come from Google’s products, while local storage holds the settings we save on your device.

How to Delete or Block Cookies in Your Browser

Every browser lets you see, delete and block cookies. These official guides show how.

What Happens If You Block Cookies

The calculators, tools and guides still work. However, the site may forget your light or dark choice and your last entries when you return. Ads may also be less relevant, and you will see the same number of ads.

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We will update this cookie policy when we add or remove a cookie. The date at the top shows when it last changed. For how we handle personal information more broadly, read our privacy policy.

What cookies does FiftyStatePay use?

We use local storage for your theme and last entries, Google Analytics cookies to measure visits, and Google AdSense cookies for ads. The table above lists each one.

Does the calculator use cookies?

No. The calculator saves your last entries in local storage on your device, and only if your browser allows it. Press reset to clear them.

How do I turn off advertising cookies?

Press the settings button on this page, use the privacy choices link in the footer, or turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings. Browser settings can also block them.

What happens if I block cookies?

Everything still works. You may need to choose your theme again, so the calculator will not remember your last entries.

Do you use cookies to track me across other sites?

We do not. Google’s advertising cookies can, however, personalize ads based on your browsing unless you opt out. You can do that in Google Ads Settings.

What is local storage?

It is browser storage for small pieces of data. Because it stays on your device, sites cannot read each other’s entries. You can clear it in your browser settings.

General information

This cookie policy describes how the site works today. Google controls its own cookies, so names and lifetimes can change. It is not legal advice.
